School Uniforms
We believe that a mandatory school uniform policy provides a more secure learning environment, promotes an atmosphere for greater student discipline, and removes many of the distractions associated with non-uniform clothing. Parents are responsible for ensuring that their children wear the school uniform as outlined below:
Boys
-Navy or White Polo Shirts – Tucked In
-Khaki or Navy Pants
-Belt
-White Kufi (Optional)
Girls
-Navy or White Polo Shirts – Tucked In
-Khaki or Navy Skirt (Below Knee)
-White Hijab – Only required for Salat al-Jumah/Dhuhr (Prayers)
Undergarments must not be visible. Shirts must be tucked in. No article of clothing should be unsuitable for school activities or call undue attention to the student. Sweat-shirts with hoods are strictly prohibited.
Solid navy-blue or black sweaters, pullovers, cardigans and sweater vests may be worn during school hours. Closed-toed shoes such as sandals and flip-flops are strictly prohibited. Parents of younger children are strongly encouraged to purchase Velcro shoes, as often untied laces pose a safety risk.
Students who arrive at school out of uniform will be sent home that evening with a note from the office. Three such notes will result in a phone call from the office requiriong a parent or legal guardian to come to The Huda Academy immediately with appropriate uniform attire.
